Tree Service Questions & Answers
Common questions about tree removal, land clearing, pricing, service area, and what to expect from Flag Creek Tree Service in the Highland Lakes.
Estimates & Pricing
How much does tree removal cost in the Highland Lakes?+
Tree removal pricing depends on the size of the tree, species, location on the property, and how close it is to structures or utility lines. We offer free on-site estimates — call 830-220-2603 to schedule a visit.
How much does land clearing cost in Llano County?+
Land clearing is typically priced by the acre and varies by vegetation density, terrain, and site access. Light clearing can run $500–$1,500 per acre; heavy cedar and brush clearing on rocky terrain can range from $2,500–$5,600+ per acre. Call for an on-site estimate.
How much does stump grinding cost?+
Stump grinding is priced per stump based on diameter and root flare. Multiple stumps on the same visit are more cost-effective. Call for a free quote — 830-220-2603.
Do you charge for the estimate?+
No. All estimates are free. David or one of his sons will walk your property with you, review the job, and give you a written quote — no obligation.
Emergency Service
Do you offer 24/7 emergency tree service?+
Yes. For storm damage, fallen trees, or hazardous limbs we respond any time — nights, weekends, and holidays. Call 830-220-2603 any time for emergencies.
How fast can you respond to an emergency?+
Response time depends on the situation and our current workload, but we prioritize true emergencies — especially when a tree is on a structure or blocking access. Call and describe the situation; we will give you an honest timeline.
Service Area
What areas do you serve?+
We serve Llano, Marble Falls, Horseshoe Bay, Burnet, Kingsland, Buchanan Dam, Lampasas, Spicewood, Bertram, Johnson City, and surrounding Llano County and Highland Lakes communities.
Do you serve rural ranch properties?+
Yes. Ranch and agricultural land clearing is one of our core services. We have the equipment for large acreage work across Llano County and the surrounding Hill Country.
What to Expect
What happens at the free on-site estimate?+
David or one of his sons will walk the property with you, look at every tree or area to be cleared, discuss your goals, and give you a written quote before any work begins. No pressure. No hidden add-ons.
Do you clean up after the job?+
Yes. All jobs include full cleanup and haul-off of brush, limbs, and wood. We leave the property clean. Stump grinding leaves fine wood chips that you can leave as mulch or we can remove.
Do I need to be home during the job?+
Not necessarily for the work itself, but we prefer you to be present for the initial estimate walkthrough so we can make sure we understand exactly what you want done.
What if the job is more complicated than expected?+
We discuss any complications before starting extra work. You will never get a surprise on your bill — if something changes the scope, we talk to you first.
Tree Health & Species
Do you handle oak wilt?+
We can remove trees affected by oak wilt and advise on proper practices — including wound treatment timing and avoiding tree trimming during peak oak wilt transmission season (February–June in Central Texas). We recommend consulting a certified arborist for diagnosis.
What tree species do you work with in the Highland Lakes?+
We work with all local species including live oak, post oak, cedar elm, Texas live oak, Ashe juniper (cedar), mesquite, pecan, and others common to the Texas Hill Country and Highland Lakes region.
